The Macleans College Z Club recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special event held at the Bentley Pavilion.

The occasion marked a decade of service, advocacy and leadership - recognising the club’s growth and its contributions to the community since establishment in 2015.

The celebration highlighted the club’s ongoing partnership with Zonta International and its commitment to the organisation’s mission of advancing the status of women worldwide. Guests included Zonta Governor Jen McKinlay Birkin, District 16 Z Club Chair Anna Apps, Auckland Area Director Irene McPherson and representatives from various Zonta Clubs across the Auckland region. A special tribute was paid to Mrs Viegas for her ten years of dedicated service to the Z Club.

As a gesture of appreciation for Zonta’s support, the Z Club presented a $1,000 donation to Foster Hope New Zealand, the current service project of Zonta District 16. The event not only honoured the club’s achievements over the past decade but also reaffirmed its commitment to future advocacy and service.

Under the leadership of President Kelly Ma (Upham House) and executive members Alvia Farooqui (Batten), Zara Lloyd (Mansfield), Yixin Zhang (Snell), Alison Yang (Kupe), Jessie Lin (Mansfield) and Amy Gao (Te Kanawa), the Z Club continues to empower and support young women in the community. The club also expressed thanks to the Macleans College Board, Mrs Restauro and Gay Gallagher (Advocacy Director for Zonta East) for their continued encouragement and support.
