A team of keen Macleans College readers rose to the challenge at the end of Term 2, taking part in the annual Readers Cup competition.
Organised by the School Library Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (SLANZA), the Readers Cup is a national reading contest for Year 9 students. It encourages a love of reading through a fast-paced quiz format based on a set selection of books.
Macleans College was represented by Raymont Qin (Kupe House), Hayden Lin (Kupe), Lauren Fahey (Mansfield), Tamsyn McCamish (Mansfield), Celine Moon (Mansfield) and Alice South (Mansfield).
The team worked diligently in the lead-up to the event and performed strongly on the day. They competed against eleven other secondary schools in the South East Auckland regional round, held at Sacred Heart College.
