Macleans College’s Computer Science students achieved outstanding success at the recent PC4G competition, held at the University of Auckland.

Four students represented the school in this programming event for Year 9 and 10 girls.

In preparation, students taught themselves Python, a programming language commonly used for software development, automation and data analysis.

During the competition, participants were given a series of programming challenges to complete within 90 minutes.  In a tense final moment, Year 10 students Wanrong Zhang and Emily Wang (both of Kupe House) overtook Epsom Girls Grammar School in the last two minutes.  Their impressive performance secured the Auckland regional title.

The students will now be invited to join the national competition, and the school extends its best wishes as they prepare for the next stage.
