Last week the Macleans College cast of Chicago had the privilege of travelling into the city to experience the international tour of SIX: The Musical at the Civic Theatre.

A high-energy, modern retelling of the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives, SIX transforms history into a thrilling pop concert, where each queen takes the stage to share her story through powerhouse vocals, witty lyrics and electrifying choreography. With a dynamic all-female cast and live band, the show delivers a bold and empowering message, making it an unforgettable theatrical experience.

The students were on the edge of their seats, captivated by the ensemble’s stunning vocal riffs, energetic dance sequences and unwavering commitment to every moment on stage. Witnessing a world-class production like SIX was not only entertaining but also an invaluable learning experience. It provided the young Macleans College performers with a first hand look at the professionalism, precision and passion required to bring a musical to life at the highest level.

As the cast of Chicago continues to work tirelessly on their own production, this experience has fuelled their excitement and determination to bring the same energy and stage presence to their performances. Watching live theatre has a profound impact on developing young performers, inspiring them to push their boundaries and elevate their craft. With their show fast approaching in early May, the students are more motivated than ever to deliver a production that is dynamic, polished and truly unforgettable.

The Macleans College community eagerly anticipates the upcoming production and looks forward to seeing the students shine on stage.
