Olivia Owen places fifth at North Island equestrian event

Year 11 student Olivia Owen (Snell House) recently represented Macleans College at the North Island Secondary Schools equestrian event, held over two days at the National Equestrian Centre in Taupō.

Competing in the 80cm division against a field of 26 riders, Olivia rode Rising Dawn to an impressive fifth place finish. The pair delivered flawless rounds in both the show jumping and cross-country phases, maintaining their dressage score throughout the competition.

The Macleans College equestrian team now turns its attention to the upcoming North Island Secondary Schools Equestrian Championships in August. The five-day event, also in Taupō, will showcase a range of equestrian disciplines and offer further opportunities for student riders to compete at a high level.
