A group of short-term international students attended Macleans College during Terms 3 and 4.

Last month, Year 12 and 13 students from Italy, Brazil, Belgium and Germany took part in a range of outdoor activities showcasing New Zealand’s natural beauty and vibrant culture.  They completed a river run in Clevedon, spent a day at Rainbows End, took surfing lessons at Muriwai Beach and participated in an inter-school sports day hosted by Howick College.

In the final two weeks of the school year, international students also enjoyed a series of day trips designed to highlight some of New Zealand’s most iconic attractions.  They explored the glowworm and limestone caves at Waitomo and toured the 12-acre Hobbiton movie set, a celebrated destination for visitors from around the world.  They also tried paddle boarding at Eastern Beach, pickleball in the school gymnasium, visited Manawa Bay for shopping, tested their skills at rock climbing and high ropes, and experienced river rafting at Wero Whitewater Park.

The students enjoyed each activity and gained valuable insights into New Zealand’s unique landscapes, culture and tourism experiences.
