Macleans College wins gold at North Island Senior Ethics Olympiad

Two teams of senior students from Macleans College competed in the recent North Island Senior Ethics Olympiad.
The Ethics Olympiad is an online competition that challenges students to discuss and analyse complex ethical cases. During the event, teams respond to probing ethical questions and are judged not only on the strength of their reasoning but also on their ability to collaborate and build upon the ideas of others.
The Macleans College Light Green team of Candy Liu (Rutherford House), Leanne Liu (Rutherford), Dalton Ma (Rutherford), Yixin Pan (Snell) and Haran Thirumeni (Rutherford) were awarded an Honourable Mention for their strong performance.
The Macleans College White team of Ayan Shah (Upham), Jacqueline Tahir (Batten), Finn Wai-Poi (Rutherford), Areeba Zabrina (Hillary) and Fred Wong (Te Kanawa) were awarded the gold medal and earnt a place in the Senior International Ethics Olympiad final, which will be held on 24 July.
These students will continue to develop their ethical reasoning and collaborative skills as they prepare for the international stage. The school congratulates both teams and wishes the White team all the best for the final.
