Barista training builds confidence and career skills for Mana students

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee has been drifting through Macleans College as Year 11 Mana students take on the challenge of becoming skilled baristas.

From customer service to operating an espresso machine and crafting the perfect flat white, they have taken on each skill with confidence and dedication.

Their training provider praised their enthusiasm, attention to detail and strong work ethic. Teachers were also delighted to sample the results, which proved to be every bit as good as they looked.

Students are now building on their barista training by writing CVs, preparing for formal interviews and taking part in local work experience. These opportunities are helping them prepare for independence and future success.

The Mana course at Macleans College is designed to support, inspire and challenge female students to realise their potential personally, socially and interpersonally. With a focus on health, fitness and well-being, the course also equips students with practical skills for financial and employment independence beyond secondary school.
