Alumna speaker inspires Macleans College Sport Academy students
Posted on September 12, 2025
Former Macleans College student Cloe Muller (Mansfield House 2018 – 2022) returned to speak with Sport Academy students, sharing her personal journey and valuable insights into the world of sport.
Now pursuing a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Nutrition, Cloe plans to continue into a Master of Physiotherapy Practice. Alongside her studies, she has launched a personal training business with CityFitness, supporting clients in their recovery from injuries, illness and health setbacks.
Her presentation focused on three key themes: trusting the process, breaking barriers and building the confidence to succeed in the competitive sports industry.
Trusting the process
Cloe stressed the importance of patience and perseverance in achieving athletic excellence. She reflected on setbacks she had faced, explaining how consistent effort and belief in the training process led to her success. Her message reminded students that true progress comes from long-term commitment rather than quick results.
Breaking barriers
Cloe also addressed the mental and physical challenges athletes often encounter. She encouraged students to see obstacles as opportunities for growth, urging them to push beyond their comfort zones and test their limits. Her story highlighted the value of resilience and the strength gained from facing adversity directly.
Confidence to succeed
Confidence, Cloe explained, is essential for success in sport. She outlined practical strategies such as setting achievable goals, celebrating small wins and maintaining a positive outlook. By cultivating self-belief, athletes can perform at their best and manage the pressures of competition more effectively.
A lasting impact
Cloe’s visit was part of Macleans College’s Alumni Speaker Series, which connects current students with alumni who have excelled in their chosen fields. Her inspiring presentation not only motivated the Sport Academy students but also provided them with practical advice to apply in their own sporting journeys. The event reflected the school’s commitment to developing well-rounded individuals prepared to succeed in both sports and life.
Macleans College sincerely thanks Cloe for volunteering her time and giving back to the students of her former school. Alumni who wish to volunteer as guest speakers, either at events or in the classroom, are warmly encouraged to do so. Follow this link to learn more and register your interest.
